Dr Anita Onwuteaka

Anita is passionate about people, enthusiastic about learning and improving access to quality health care.
Anita initially completed a degree in biology in the pre-physical therapy program at the Houston Baptist University in 2012. She went ahead to work in healthcare, education, fashion and business development. She then completed a Masters of Physiotherapy from the Robert Gordon University, Scotland in 2016 and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of St Augustine Florida in 2019.
Anita has a wealth of experience in work-related injuries, pre and post operative rehabilitation and sports- injuries in NHS and private settings. Anita has worked with athletes in a number of sports at different levels including hockey, running (short and long distance), basketball, squash, tennis, rowing, strong person events, football and rugby. She has worked in the occupational team at universities and managed occupational cases for corporations. Anita also has research experience in pre- and post-operative rehabilitation and continues to be involved in lower back and lower limb osteoarthritis research and interventions.
In 2022, Anita joined the Barbican Physio team where she splits her time between corporate sites and the main clinic. Anita has a keen interest in the patient’s journey and combines hands-on-therapy, exercise/rehabilitation and education to help patients achieve their goals. Anita believes in an individualized approach to rehabilitation. She creates a clinical environment where the patient’s needs are heard which then informs the approach throughout their treatment.
The clinic is located on the podium level. The street entrance is permanently closed.
